CISD READS

CISD READS is what Conroe ISD's Language Arts Program is built around.  Each Letter of the word "READ" stands for an important part of the successful program.

R          RESEARCH
CISD wants to be sure that all of their teachers are using research based best teacher practices to insure that all students are receiving the best instruction possible. This is one reason that our curriculum and district strategies change so much.  We want to be sure that we are reflecting todays, most up to date, reading practices and instructional strategies.
E            EXPECTATIONS
CISD holds very high standards and expectations for our students.  We want students to be able to read, comprehend and write full compositions according to their grade level standards.  The curriculum for each grade level is built to align and complement each other. 
A             ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES
CISD is filled with district coaches and support teams to help all teachers be successful in their craft.  There is also a ride range of curriculum resources to help teachers teach to the rigorous language arts curriculum.
D            DEVELOPMENT OF STAFF
CISD hold many opportunities for teachers to learn as well.  There are many opportunities through the year to expand a teachers knowledge on a wide range of instructional subjects and strategies. Staff development is done at the campus and district level.  Teachers may sign up in euphoria for all staff development opportunities.
S            SUCCESS

Students in CISD are made to be successful in all endeavors.  Before leaving Elementary school, all students should be fluent readers, and higher-level thinkers as well.
